Classic? Retro? - Eyeless - 06-18-2019
There already maybe a thread like this but i'm really curious how many of you will say goodbye to retro and head to classic? Myself, I don't really know in all honesty.

As long as the server (RetroWoW) is alive, I'll continue to be a part of it.
In regards to Classic, after the initial release date I was hyped (I had replied "I'll definitely be on classic" on one of the threads), but the more I think about it, I'm only remembering the fun parts of classic.
There are a lot of moments that also sucked, and I don't think I have the free time to endure that anymore. 40 man raids can suck, I liked the game more when it was smaller groups. Basically, I doubt I'll be into the game enough to get back into hardcore end-game or PvP, and at that point, well there isn't much point in starting.
Also, screw blizzard for charging a sub-fee on recycled content. A stand-alone fee would been sufficient (they have the back-end already, back in the day we were paying for the constant server upgrades required to keep the game alive).
So maybe Retro-WoW as long as it stays, will be my WoW-home =P

I wouldn't worry so much. Plenty of people played private servers during expansions such as Wrath, even when current retail was operating 3.3.5a
Retro is more unique, as it's an instant 60 funserver, rather than a completely blizzlike server. Population will massively decline from servers attempting to mimic retail, however, funservers may lose some players, but will take a much lighter hit in comparison to blizzlike servers.
A lot of people will stay play here. I and a lot of my friends will try retail, but we will most be staying here too. The sense of community, easier gearing, no leveling, less time consuming and hundreds of other benefits private servers such as Retro provide in comparison to retail will see Retro survive, and probably thrive.

I completely agree, as bad as I want to play classic. I don't even have to really commit to a 5 man group on retro LOL.. I'll probably give it a go.. May even level something to 60 the more I think of it. But as for competing I don't think that's in the picture and if I can't compete no real reason to play consistently. I'll be around on Retro that's for sure. Been here way to long to just quit completely

Have a newborn baby. I can play retro in 2 hour chunks with no issue. Its ideal.
I will probably SLOWLY level a char on classic but I prob wont hit 60 until Jan or something like that lol.
